Raggasonic

Raggasonic are a French ragga group active since 1990. The group consists of Big Red, Daddy Mory and Frenchie, and is associated with ragga and ragga hip-hop.

Background

The group is formed in France and comes to wider attention after the release of the compilation Rapattitude in the early 1990s. Big Red is Stéphane Joaquim, Daddy Mory is Mory Samaké, and Frenchie is Francois Allegre.

Recordings

Raggasonic release two official albums: Raggasonic and Raggasonic 2. Both albums are produced by Frenchie.

Notable track

The group's best-known song is “Sors Avec Ton Gun”, released in 1995 in connection with Matthieu Kassovitz’s film La Haine.

Later activity

Big Red and Daddy Mory each pursue solo careers.
