Radical Face

Radical Face is the solo project of Ben Cooper, a musician from Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Cooper is the only постоянный member of the project, although he works with other musicians including fellow Electric President member Alex Kane, his friend Mark Hubbard and his brother Emeral. He is also associated with Electric President.

Recordings and style

Radical Face releases music on Bear Machine and Morr Music. The project’s early album Ghost is delayed for remastering and then released in 2007. Cooper’s second album, Family Tree: The Roots, appears in 2011 and begins The Family Tree trilogy, a sequence of records that follows a fictional family across the period from 1800 to 1950. The planned follow-up titles are The Branches and The Relatives. Between the first two albums, Cooper also releases the EPs Touch The Sky and The Bastards Volume 1.

Sound

The project’s music combines indie folk, indie pop and singer-songwriter elements with acoustic guitar, found-sound percussion and layered arrangements. Much of it is recorded in a shed in Cooper’s backyard.
