Rabbit Foot

Rabbit Foot is a two-piece blues and rock act with male and female vocals, formed by Jamie Morgan and Carla Viegas. Morgan is from Newfoundland, Canada, and Viegas is from Lisbon, Portugal. The group combines rhythm guitar, lead guitar and counterpoint vocals with three African bass drums, and occasional lead percussion or bass.

Style and sound

Their music is described as swamp rock boogie blues with voodoo and African influences. It draws on the sound of Willie Dixon tunes, old West Memphis blues and a raw, direct approach to performance. The duo presents its sound as a mix of older blues forms and modern music, with a strong emphasis on singing, playing, dancing and shouting.

Instruments and arrangement

The act consists of two singers who also play guitar, supported by three African bass drums. In addition, they sometimes add lead percussion or bass, which gives the group a more percussive and stripped-back blues-rock texture.
