PyPy

PyPy is a psychedelic garage punk band from Montreal, Canada. The group brings together musicians from several other Montreal acts and works with a sound that combines wah-wah guitar, fuzz, distortion, disco-influenced breaks, and fast pop elements.

Members

Roy Vucino plays guitar and sings; he is also associated with Red Mass, CPC Gangbangs and Les Sexareenos. Annie-Claude Deschênes is a co-lead singer and keyboardist and is also a member of Duchess Says. Philippe Clement plays bass, and Simon Besrébut plays drums.

Releases

The band’s debut album, Pagan Day, appears in 2014 and is noted for being used in the soundtrack to Yves Saint Laurent runway shows. Their second album, Sacred Times, appears in 2024.
