PWR BTTM

PWR BTTM is a US queer punk duo from Hudson, active between 2013 and 2017. The group consists of Liv Bruce and Ben Hopkins.

Formation and style

Bruce and Hopkins form the band after meeting at Bard College, where they share an interest in bringing performance and drag elements into DIY culture. Their work sits within punk and queercore, and their identity as a queer duo is central to their output.

Recordings and roles

At Bard College, the pair record a demo titled Cinderella Beauty Shop and the split EP Republican National Convention with Jawbreaker Reunion. On these early releases, Hopkins plays guitar and sings while Bruce plays drums. They later begin sharing vocal and songwriting duties and trading instruments.

Albums

Their LP Ugly Cherries reflects experiences of queerness, gender and adulthood, shaped by a year spent living in upstate New York.
