Psychaos

Psychaos is the psychedelic trance project of Joti Sidhu, a musician born in Wimbledon, London, who moves to Brighton at the age of 15. He begins making music after an early international performance in Paris in September 1990, when he plays at Fort de Champigny with D-Shake and other major acts of the period. He later uses an Atari computer with MIDI and Steinberg Cubase sequencing software, which shapes his approach to electronic music.

Early development

Sidhu becomes seriously involved in the London underground party scene around 1993. At an outdoor party in a remote quarry in West London, he first encounters psychedelic music, an experience that leads into the Psychaos sound. Psychaos appears on the compilation Tribal Science, the second release in the Concept in Dance series, in 1995.

Style and activity

The project is associated with psytrance, Goa trance, psychedelic trance and psychedelic music. Psychaos gains an international following and plays at a wide range of locations, including Guadeloupe in the French Caribbean, the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, castles in France and Yugoslavia, ancient ruins in Greece, Mount Fuji in Japan, Expo Portugal in Lisbon, and summer ski resorts in the Swiss mountains, as well as club circuits across Europe.
