Power Trip
Power Trip is a US crossover thrash and thrash metal group from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2008 and active since then. The band’s line-up includes Marcus Johnson, Riley Gale, Blake Ibanez, Nick Stewart, Chris Whetzel and Chris Ulsh. It is associated with the late 1980s thrash metal style and is described as a Dallas band in that vein, with links to crossover and hardcore punk traditions.
Releases and style
The group releases material through Lockin’ Out Records and Southern Lord Records. Its debut album, Manifest Decimation, is released via Southern Lord and is followed by Nightmare Logic. The band is also linked with the bands Exodus, Vio-Lence, later Cro-Mags and Prong as reference points for its sound.
Members and history
Riley Gale is a founding member and vocalist of the band. He dies in 2020. Power Trip is also listed as a crossover thrash and hardcore punk act in addition to its thrash metal base.
