Postiljonen
Postiljonen is a Stockholm-based dream pop group from Sweden, active since 2012. It is formed around Joel Rampage, and the band has also included Mia Bøe, Daniel Sjörs and Joel Nyström Holm. The group begins as a trio and develops a distinctive sound built around ethereal vocals and an ambient, dreamy style.
Sound and influences
Their music is rooted in dream pop and is also associated with indie pop, indie and synthpop. They are compared with M83, Sigur Rós, jj and Cocteau Twins. Their work draws on old black-and-white films, 1980s pop culture, Balearic imagery and sleepless summer nights, and the band describes itself in nostalgic terms.
Career
Postiljonen starts out performing in Swedish before moving towards a wider, more expansive sound. The track Rivers marks a key point in that development and helps bring the band to a broader audience. From there, they continue along an 1980s-influenced, experimental path while maintaining the same dreamy atmosphere.
