Porridge Radio
Porridge Radio is a British indie rock band from Brighton, active from 2015 to 2025. The group forms around vocalist, songwriter and lead guitarist Dana Margolin, with Dan Hutchins, Georgie Stott and Sam Yardley also listed as members. Its sound sits across alternative rock, indie pop, indie rock, lo-fi and post-punk, and it is also described as a DIY music band with post-punk, art punk and Crank wave associations.
Formation and line-up
The band forms in Brighton in 2015. Dana Margolin grows up in the Jewish community of North West London before leading the group as singer, songwriter and guitarist. The other members are keyboardist Georgie, bass guitarist Maddie and drummer Sam in one account, while the band is also listed with Dan Hutchins, Georgie Stott and Sam Yardley among its members.
Releases and label work
Porridge Radio releases its debut album, Rice, Pasta and other fillers, in August 2016. It appears on limited edition cassette and as a free download. The band is part of Memorials of Distinction, a Brighton-based label.
