Pneuma

Pneuma is a Polish metal band from Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia in the Tri-City area. It forms in 1997 and is active until 2012. The band plays christian hardcore metal, and its listed genres also include alternative metal, nu metal and thrash metal.

Career and releases

The band records and releases four albums: The wind blows where it wants, Berakha, Kokon and One. After One, it releases Apathy on Mystic Production. The album is recorded over two years, mixed by Szymon Czech and produced by Kuba Mańkowski. It includes guest appearances by Czesław Śpiewa, Seth, Adam Tkaczyk and others.

Pneuma also records a cover of Pink’s U & Ur Hand for radio play. Apathy receives strong reviews and is nominated for a Fryderyk award in the Metal Album of the Year category at the beginning of 2012.

Live activity and recognition

The band plays more than 400 concerts. In September 2011, it takes part in the 3City Attacks Tour with Psychollywood, Brokken Betty and Empire. Pneuma also wins a place at Wacken Open Air through the Wacken Metal Masters competition after an online vote.

Its 2010 album Anomaly is mentioned in connection with a later award-winning Costa Rican act in the input, but for the Polish band the durable facts are the Tri-City origin, the 1997–2012 activity span, the metal style, the four named releases, the Mystic Production album Apathy, the guest musicians, the 3City Attacks Tour, and the Fryderyk nomination.
