Planet

Planet is a Louisiana band. The name is used by at least two acts: one is an Australian indie rock band, while another is PLVNET, a project that presents itself as a new form of a “universal song” and uses the name in a stylised way.

PLVNET lineup

The PLVNET line-up includes Curtis Anthony of Low Frequency, Wes Hartman of Chant/Voice, Red Souther of Pulse, Nathanimal Luttrell of Mid and High Frequencies, and James “DJ Kid Saturn” Wood of Sonic Ear Candy. Luttrell is identified as having been voted Chattanooga’s Best Guitarist in 2009 at the FYI music awards.

Style and influences

PLVNET is described as a brand of electronic and organic rock. The project says its music carries a message of renewal and change, and it cites influences including Radiohead, Deftones, David Bowie, Beethoven, Pink Floyd, Silverchair, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Muse, Weezer and Roy Orbison.

Release

The Australian indie rock band Planet releases a debut album called Information Overload in 2022.
