Pisse

Pisse is a German punk group from Dresden, active since 2012. The band is associated with post-punk and punk, and it has members John, Paul, George, Ringo and Richard.

Style and themes

The group uses rough, distinctive vocals, fast tempos, synthesizer and theremin. Its lyrics focus mainly on everyday situations, which are turned into humorous material with an emphasis on madness and depression. The band is also described as having little internet presence and being relatively rare, despite strong popularity in the German punk scene.

Reception and context

Pisse is placed by Jens Uthoff of taz within the post-punk revival in Germany, which revisits the music of the 1980s. It is also described alongside Puff! as rougher and more sarcastic than similar bands, and compared with the fun punk of Die Goldenen Zitronen.
