Background

One Pineapple is an indie band from Rhyl and Abergele in North Wales, featuring former members of Fluorescent Daydream. Another is an indie pop and rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, fronted by Cameron Dilworth, who previously leads The Neins Circa.

Vancouver line-up and recording

The Vancouver version of Pineapple includes Cary Pratt of Prairie Cat on drums, Aaron McKinney of SSRI's on bass, and John Sparnoski of The Joint Chiefs of Math on guitar and synth. Caleb Stull of Vancouver's Parlor Steps records the album, except for a few tracks that Dilworth records at home.

Style and comparisons

The Vancouver band's songs are described as a mix of indie pop and rock, with comparisons made to Dr. Dog, La Shark, Neutral Milk Hotel, Velvet Underground, Sparks, Modern Lovers, Beck, Bowie, the Beatles and the Pixies.
