Pine Leaf Boys

Pine Leaf Boys are a Louisiana group associated with folk, Cajun and Creole music from South Louisiana. They perform traditional music from Southwest Louisiana and draw on older Cajun and Creole styles as well as later bands such as Mamou Playboys and Jason Frey.

Line-up

The group includes Jon Bertrand on guitars, Thomas David on bass, Blake Miller on bass and fiddle, Wilson Savoy on accordion, fiddle and vocals, Chris Segura, Drew Simon on drums and vocals, and Courtney Granger on fiddle, accordion and vocals. Former member Cedric Watson plays fiddle.

Recognition and recordings

Pine Leaf Boys receive two Grammy Award nominations. One comes for their second album Blues de Musicien in the Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album category, and another for Homage Au Passé. They also win two Cajun French Music Association Awards and place in the top six of Offbeat Magazine’s list of the 50 best CDs of the year. Their discography also includes La Musique.
