Phil Saunders is a solo artist from Middlesbrough who works across metal, rock and acoustic singer-songwriter territory. He also performs with The Phil Saunders Band and Glenn Athens & The Trojans.
In his earlier metal and rock projects, he receives favourable reviews from Kerrang!, has radio play, and appears in sessions for Marc Riley, Huw Stephens and Bob Fischer. He also supports artists including Gallows and Biffy Clyro. As a solo performer, he shares stages with Frank Turner, Chris T-T, Franz Nicolay, Luke Leighfield and Jose Vanders.
His debut release, So Much For The Aftershow, attracts strong reviews, including a 10/10 write-up from DieShellSuit Zine. His music is influenced by a broad background in rock, while he also cites artists such as Willy Mason, Grandaddy and Graham Coxon among his interests.
He attends Billingham school with Jamie Bell and Paul Smith of Maxïmo Park.
