Pendleton

Pendleton is a four-piece punk band from Manchester, United Kingdom. It forms in the early 2000s and is active from 2001 onwards. The band goes through several line-ups and names before settling on Pendleton in 2002, when the current members meet at the University of Salford.

Style and background

The group is associated with skate punk, melodic hardcore, melodic punk, punk rock and pop punk, and is described as a UK skate punk band. Its listed genres also include pop punk and punk.

Recordings and releases

Pendleton releases its debut EP, You, by Us, in the UK in 2006 on Distort Manchester Records. The EP draws attention from punk media, and a video for Falling Apart to Double Time receives airplay on MTV2, including on Headbangers Ball presented by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. After touring to support the release, the band signs to Bells On Records for Japan and later to Angry Penguin Records for the USA. Extended editions of You, by Us appear in Japan in 2007 and in the USA in 2007, with bonus tracks taken from the earlier self-released EP Stamp out the Japanazis.

Debut album

The band’s debut album, The Difference, is released in 2008. It is recorded and produced by John Naclerio, who is also associated with My Chemical Romance, Brand New, Just Surrender and Bayside.

Recognition

Pendleton receives critical attention from punk music website Punktastic.com, which describes the band as one of the best skate punk bands in the UK.
