Pearl and the Puppets

Pearl and the Puppets is the music project of Katie Sutherland, a singer, songwriter and musician from Kirkintilloch, Scotland. She performs under the name Pearl and plays guitar as well as other instruments. The act is associated with indie pop and singer-songwriter styles.

Career

Sutherland leaves college to pursue music full time. She signs a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and is managed by 21st Artists. Her management company also represents Elton John, James Blunt, Lily Allen and Just Jack.

Writing and collaborations

Alongside her own songwriting, Sutherland co-writes with Ben Parker, Matty Benbrook and Ricky Ross. Ross is the founder and principal songwriter of Deacon Blue.

Recording

She records with producer Stephen Street, whose production credits include The Smiths, Blur, The Cranberries, Morrissey and the Kaiser Chiefs.
