Pauline Scanlon is a singer of contemporary and traditional Irish music from Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland. She performs folk-influenced music and has been active professionally since she was 15.
Career
Scanlon tours the pub and club scene on the Dingle peninsula with her nephew Dayne Scanlon, and she also tours internationally with Sharon Shannon. She appears on RTÉ's The Late Late Show and features on Shannon's Libertango album, where she sings a version of Joni Mitchell's "A Case Of You".
Solo releases and collaborations
Her first solo CD, Red Colour Sun, is released on the Daisy label and blends traditional sounds with modern influences. She later completes a project with Donough Hennessy, formerly of the Irish band Lúnasa, alongside Darrell Scott, Kenny Malone, Stuart Duncan and other musicians. The resulting album, Hush, is released on Compass Records. Scanlon also collaborates with Belinda Carlisle on Carlisle's 2007 release Voila.
Lumiere
In 2009, Scanlon joins Éilís Kennedy to form a duo first called the Dingle White Females and later renamed Lumiere. Lumiere releases its self-titled debut album on Sony Ireland.
