Paula i Karol
Paula i Karol are a Warsaw-based Polish group active since 2009. The line-up centres on Paula Bialski and Karol Strzemieczny, and the project is associated with folk, indie and DIY pop.
Background and style
The pair draw on different influences from their personal backgrounds: Paula’s home town in north Ontario and Karol’s connection to Warsaw. Their music is described as a form of folky DIY pop, and they are presented as Polish representatives of that style.
Releases and collaborators
The group’s debut LP is Overshare, issued on the Polish indie label LADO ABC. In performance, they work with a wider group of musicians, including Staszek Wrobel on drums and Krzysiek “Pozar” on bass and keyboards.
