Paul Hartnoll is an English electronic musician from Dartford, United Kingdom. He is one of the Hartnoll brothers and works with his brother Phil in Orbital, the electronic duo he helps make up.

Solo work

Hartnoll releases a solo album, The Ideal Condition, in May 2007. The record takes a more acoustic direction than Orbital’s earlier albums and is arranged with Chris Elliot for performance by a full orchestra.

8:58 and later solo recordings

After Orbital’s second split in 2014, he returns to the studio under the name 8:58 and issues a self-titled debut album. Its first single, “The Clock”, features Cillian Murphy on vocals. He later drops the 8:58 name and uses Paul Hartnoll again.
