Paul Blackford

Paul Blackford is a UK electro producer and DJ whose work draws on early rave, acid house and Detroit electro. Born in 1982, he grows up in the early 1990s during the peak of the rave and acid house era, and that period shapes his sound.

Releases and labels

His first EP, 1991, appears in February 2003 on Breakin’ Records and becomes an instant UK bass anthem. That release is described as an early UK interpretation of the Detroit techno bass sound. He also releases material on Baselogic, WIDE, Audio Aubergine, Digital Distortions, Deadlock Records and Twilight 76 Records, and continues to release tracks across these labels.

Other work

Blackford also provides library music for television through BMG Zomba. In 2009, he sets up Militant Science as an outlet for his own material and releases by other artists.
