Patrol

Identity

The name Patrol is shared by multiple bands. One listed act is a punk band from Leven in East Fife, Scotland, with a line-up including Paddy on vocals, Jock on drums, Ronnie on guitar and Stewarty on bass. That version of the band begins in 1979, goes through several drummers, and keeps the same core line-up from the early 1980s. Another listed act forms in 2003 in Seattle and plays heavy rock. A third is a heavy metal band from Spain.

Recorded work

The Scottish punk Patrol issues two demos, Unknown Soldiers in 1981 and Another Fiasco in 1982. In 1983, No Future Records includes “Nurse Nurse” and “Unknown Soldiers” on the compilation Country Fit For Heroes Vol 2. In 1984, Rot Records includes “SS Officer” and “Don't Criticise” on the compilation Two Ninety Nine!. In 2011, the band records and releases its first full CD album, a 21-track set largely made up of songs written in the early 1980s.

Activity and style

The Scottish punk group continues to play gigs in Scotland in 2013 and is linked with the punk and skinhead scene in Fife. Its compilation appearances place it alongside acts such as Blitz, The Partisans, The Blood, ABH, On Parole, Intensive Care, Impact, Mania, Government Lies, Criminal Damage, Cadaverous Clan, Animal Farm, Killroy, Naked Prey, Clampdown, The Enemy, Sick Vicars, Radio Nine, Resistance 77, Those Obnoxious Types and Paranoia.

Other line-up

The Seattle-based Patrol begins in summer 2003 with Doug Lorig on guitar and vocals and Eric Junge on drums. Jake Reisenbichler later joins on bass and Skippy King on guitar. The group rehearses during 2004 and 2005, records a demo with Ben Verellen, and completes a debut album called Destinations, recorded in late 2005 with producer Matt Bayles. Its sound is described as heavy rock with complex rhythms, loud guitars, and shifting tempos. Stiff Slack plans a Japanese release for the album in 2006.
