Patrick Forge
Patrick Forge is a DJ and broadcaster from Ipswich, United Kingdom, born in 1962. His style spans nu-jazz, broken beat, house, soul and Latin jazz, and he becomes associated with a broad mix of club and radio scenes in the UK.
Broadcasting and radio
He is one of the original DJs on Kiss, the pirate radio station, and hosts The Cosmic Disco show there from 1987 for 21 years.
Work in club culture
Forge works alongside British dance figures including Norman Jay and Coldcut, and he is often associated with Gilles Peterson. That connection begins when Peterson invites him to DJ at the Talking Loud and Saying Something Sunday session at Dingwalls in Camden Town, London.
Recording projects and compilations
He is a member of the Brazilian-influenced band De Lata, a group whose music blends Brazilian flavour with a London sensibility. He is also the originator of the Rebirth of Cool series, an eclectic compilation series.
