Paradox is the drum and bass project of Dev Pandya, a UK producer born in 1972 and associated with Vilnius, United Kingdom. He also records as Alaska.

Drum and bass work

Paradox starts releasing music in 1990 and builds a long production career in drum and bass and drumfunk. His work helps define drumfunk, a style that uses obscure breakbeats or reworks familiar drum and bass breaks from their original source material and sets them to drum and bass tempos. He is known as a breakbeat pioneer and has released more than 100 singles.

Labels and releases

His singles appear on major drum and bass labels including Reinforced, Good Looking, and Metalheadz. He also runs and releases through his own labels and imprints, including Paradox Music, Arctic, Esotic, and Outsider. He is also associated with Seba & Paradox as a label name.

Collaborations

Paradox works with Seba and with vocalist Robert Manos, collaborations that strengthen his reputation as a producer and songwriter. He is also involved in projects with Herbie Hancock and Carlos Santana.
