Paceshifters

Paceshifters is a Dutch rock band from the Netherlands, active since 2008. The group is made up of Jesper Albers, Paul Dokman, Seb Dokman and Koen Klarenbeek.

Style and background

The band is associated with rock, punk rock, hard rock and speed rock, and is also described as a Dutch noise rock trio. Its music is presented as high-energy and rooted in a hard-edged live approach.

Live work and festivals

Paceshifters builds much of its reputation through extensive live activity, playing many club and bar shows as well as festival appearances. The band performs at events including Groezrock, Zwarte Cross, Paaspop, Buma ROCKS and PINKPOP, and also appears in support slots for acts such as Deep Purple, 3 Doors Down, Triggerfinger, Therapy? and Queens of the Stone Age.

Releases and label activity

The band’s third album is Breach, which is released in the Benelux by Goomah Music, Excelsior and V2 Records. A first single from the album is “Drone”, and another album track mentioned is “Nothing You Can Do”.

Recognition

After an appearance at Buma ROCKS, Paceshifters gains attention from the international music business and secures a place at the Danish showcase festival When Copenhell Freezes Over. Dutch national radio station 3FM also names the band Serious Talent, which brings it airplay and wider attention. Andy Cairns of Therapy? describes the group as a safe pair of hands for the future of Dutch rock and roll.
