Owen Tromans

Owen Tromans is an English musician from the West Midlands, raised in the Black Country. He is associated with alternative rock, indie rock, freak folk and rural themes, and he leads a solo career after fronting San Lorenzo, a group identified with John Peel.

Solo work and style

As a solo artist, Tromans releases several albums and tours widely. His work combines electric and acoustic approaches, moving between forceful guitar-driven songs and more spare acoustic material. A recurring strand in his writing is the use of repeated characters and connected narratives across songs.

Notable recordings

One of his best-known releases is the 2009 song cycle The Fall of Acre, which develops the stories of the recurring characters in his songs. Eternal Western Youthdream gathers tracks from his earlier releases from 2001 to 2011, together with new material.
