Over Atlantic

Over Atlantic is an indie and alternative rock group formed in August 2008 by Alex, who lives in California, and Dan, who lives in New Jersey. The pair meet through an online music site called punkdisasters, where Dan sends Alex lyrics and guitar parts and Alex turns them into songs.

The project develops out of online collaboration and a DIY approach to writing, with the two members working through song ideas over a period of months. Their stated aim is to make music that affects listeners emotionally rather than following a commercial or image-driven model.

The band later claims to disband in February 2009, but this proves to be a hoax intended to mock the Blink-182 hiatus. Over Atlantic is described as working on a new record.
