Ottersgear

Ottersgear begins in summer 2008 in Quernmore, Lancaster, on the edge of the Trough of Bowland. It starts as a recording project for Mikey Kenney, who is also the frontman of One Chip Potato, and later becomes a live project led by Kenney with an ensemble of musicians.

Project and style

The project uses folk themes and mythological metaphors. It is associated with folk, Celtic, indie, and influences linked in the input to Syd Barrett and Neil Young.

Release history

Its first EP is Rising Balloon, which tells the story of an alcoholic who seeks rest in the lonely company of the Trough and overcomes a struggle with alcohol.
