Other Voices

Other Voices is a goth band from Calabria, Italy. The group forms in the late 1990s in a small town in southern Calabria, where three musicians interested in the darker side of the new wave movement decide to start a band despite being far from the larger city scenes. The original line-up brings together Domenico Cirillo on bass, Giuseppe Dromì on guitar, Vincenzo Amato on vocals and Francesco Misiti on drums. Giuseppe Piccolo later joins on guitar.

Style and early material

The band plays a repertoire rooted in classic dark music and also begins writing its own songs while performing across the provinces of Calabria. Its sound is associated with gothic rock, post-punk, darkwave and psychedelic influences, with a noted connection to Italian goth.

Album work

In 2004, the group begins work on its first album, Anatomy of a Pain. The album is issued on CD in 2005 by the Italian label In The Night Time.
