Oscar Blue

Oscar Blue is a singer-songwriter from London, born in 1998, working in folk pop and indie pop. He is described as Irish and is associated with the banks of Lough Derg in East Clare. His music draws on the influence of Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey, alongside the acoustic pop styles of Vance Joy, Ben Howard, Paolo Nutini and Kodaline.

Early activity

As a teenager, he builds experience through regular gigging and develops an online following under a former stage name, gathering thousands of YouTube subscribers and Twitter followers. By the time he is 16, he has played festivals across Ireland and supports a number of established Irish acts.

Live performances

His early live work includes opening for Hermitage Green, Ryan Sheridan, Hometown, The Original Rudeboys and Ryan O'Shaughnessy. These performances take place in venues including The Academy, Cyprus Avenue and Dolan's Warehouse.
