OsamaSon

OsamaSon is a rapper and record producer from Columbus, Ohio, who is also associated with Goose Creek, South Carolina. Born Amari Deshawn Middleton in 2003, he starts rapping in mid-2020 and begins releasing music the following year.

Style and sound

His music is described as experimental and is linked to “flex musix,” a term associated with his 2023 album of the same name. That style uses heavy, booming 808s rooted in dark plugg, along with melodic synths influenced by rage music. His listed genres include dark plugg, rage and underground hip hop.

Early releases and underground recognition

OsamaSon’s first project, Im Da Man, appears in August 2021. He then releases a run of projects through SoundCloud across 2021 and 2022. His first notable underground success comes in April 2023 with “cts-v,” followed by “Thuggin W My Rounds” later the same month.

Albums and collaborations

His debut studio album, Osama Season, arrives in 2023 and brings wider attention through tracks including “Werkin,” “Kutta,” “Lil O” and “X & Sex.” Around the time of that release, he signs to Atlantic Records. He also works with other underground artists including Nettspend and Slump6s.

In March 2023, he and ohsxnta release the collaboration project Ohsama, which features production from various plugg and dark plugg producers.

Later releases

OsamaSon follows Osama Season with Flex Musix in 2023, then releases the deluxe version FLXTRA in 2024. In 2025 he issues Jump Out, his third commercial album, which reaches the Billboard 200 and includes “Made Sum Plans,” “Ref,” “Frontin” and “Room 156.” He later adds bonus tracks including “Logo” and “Luv.” In 2025 he also releases psykotic, his fourth solo studio album, which uses a more aggressive and abstract take on rage production with DRACO.FM taking over creative control of the production.
