orange yellow red is a shoegaze trio from Greece, formed in 2008. The group consists of Emma Hayward on vocals and bass, Philip John Mayor on vocals, drums, guitar and synth, and Ross King on guitar.
The band records in a beach house studio and focuses on dreamy, melodic guitar pop with dream pop and indie influences. Its first demo, “All the Hopes,” appears on Invada Records’ compilation The Secret Garden Vol. 1 - Nu-Gaze: The New Wave of Shoegaze, an early release that brings the group wider attention.
After that release, the band chooses to concentrate on writing and recording a full album rather than taking on most of the live offers it receives. Its debut album, A Rose Made of Galaxies, is released in 2013 on Saint Marie Records.
