Onslaught

Onslaught are a UK punk, thrash and speed metal band from Bristol, in England. They form in 1983 and are active from then to the present day. The group starts with strong hardcore punk influences, including Discharge and The Exploited, and also draws on the new wave of British heavy metal. Over time, they move towards a more defined thrash metal sound.

Style and scene

The band is associated with hardcore punk, punk, punk rock, metal and thrash metal. They are cited as an influential name in the British thrash metal scene and are sometimes placed among the country's "big four" of thrash metal, alongside Sabbat, Xentrix and Acid Reign.

Recordings

Their studio albums include Power from Hell, The Force, In Search of Sanity, Killing Peace, Sounds of Violence, VI, Generation Antichrist and Origins of Aggression. Their discography also includes a compilation album, four singles, a live album and a live DVD.
