One Minute Silence

One Minute Silence is a nu metal and rap metal group from Tipperary, active from 1995 to 2003. The line-up includes Brian 'Yap' Barry on vocals, Massimo Fiocco on guitar, Eddie Stratton on drums, Glen Diani on bass, Martin Davies on drums, and Chris Ignatiou. The band draws on metal, hardcore punk and rap, and later also uses elements of stoner rock and progressive rock.

The group forms in the mid-1990s and develops a sound that sits between rap-influenced metal and heavier alternative styles. Its lyrics carry a political message, with themes that can be read as anti-capitalist and anarchist, although the band does not describe itself as a political band so much as a group of political people who also make music.

One Minute Silence ends its first run in 2003 after eight years together. After the split, Yap records two albums with his own project, Pink Punk. The band later reunites with Martin Davies on drums and begins work on new material and live shows, and an EP titled Fragmented Armageddon is part of that later period.
