Omo
Omo is a German electronic pop group made up of Berit Immig and David Muth. Their music begins with small instruments chosen to suit a small apartment, and combines acoustic textures, amplified Casio pianos and vocals that can resemble a theremin. The duo describe their work as “Domestic Pop for Domestic Occasions”.
Formation and early performances
The group forms in spring 2004. Its first public performance takes place at the Aquarium Berlin, where it plays for passing visitors over the course of a lunch break.
Background and influences
Immig and Muth first work together while collaborating in the London-based band Karamasov. Their shared approach shapes Omo’s compact, domestic sound and its mix of electronics, pop and relaxed textures.
