OMIXLH
OMIXLH are a street punk and Oi! band from Thessaloniki, Greece. The band forms in 1996 and first appears on record with an unofficial cassette release called Antithesi, followed by a split cassette with Karkinoma from Kastoria in 1998 titled Egklovismenoi stin mizeria. They begin playing live after these early releases, including a first appearance in Thessaloniki at the university in 2000, which is described as an episodic show.
After that, the band plays many concerts across Greece before issuing its first official release in 2001, I diki mas kathimerinotita. By then, the line-up has gone through several changes before settling on Lefteris on vocals, Aggeliki on vocals, Andreas on bass, George on guitar and Mihos on drums. Later, Aggeliki and George leave and are replaced by Dimitris on vocals and Babis on guitar.
In 2003, OMIXLH release a 7-inch record, Eternal alive. The band also appears on several independent compilation releases. In 2007, it releases the vinyl Friends For Ever...Punx For Life and completes two European tours, including dates in Holland, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In 2009, Joe Pogo Records reissues Friends For Ever...Punx For Life in 1,000 copies for Europe and America.
Following further departures, the band’s later line-up is Lefteris on vocals, Babis on guitar, Aris on guitar, Alex on bass and Michos on drums. OMIXLH also begin recording a new album titled Legion of freaks, scheduled for release on Joe Pogo Records. The group remains associated with punk and street punk from Thessaloniki.
