Oliver Thomas

Oliver Thomas is a German schlager singer from Alpirsbach, Germany, born in 1977. He grows up in the Black Forest and develops an interest in music in early childhood, listening to bands for hours and wanting to perform on major stages.

Early musical development

In his younger years, he learns several instruments, including drums, and performs in various bands. He starts his solo career at 15, appearing at parties and gala events and increasingly singing his own compositions. Songwriter Irma Holder hears him on stage and introduces him to producer Jean Frankfurter, who records his first titles.

Breakthrough and career

Thomas gains wider attention through his first TV Hitparade appearance in 1997, when his song “Maedchen sind was Wunderbares” helps him stand out from the competition. He goes on to win many Hitparade contests and other prizes, and becomes established as one of the successful pop singers in the German schlager scene.

Band work and songwriting

Since 2009, he tours with his own band. In 2010, an audience of 3,000 people attends a performance by Oliver Thomas & Band in his hometown of Balingen. He writes and produces many of his songs himself in his own studio, saying that this allows his personality to come through in the music.
