Oi Va Voi

Oi Va Voi is a London band whose music draws on Eastern European rhythms and melodies. The group’s name is Yiddish and roughly means “oh dear God”. It works with a range of guest vocalists and has five core members.

Line-up

The core members are Nik Ammar, who plays guitars, sings and handles production; Josh Breslaw, who plays drums, percussion and production; Stephen Levi, who plays clarinet and sings; and David Orchant, who plays trumpet. The band also performs with Bridgette Amofah on vocals and Anna Phoebe on violin.

Former contributors

Former contributors include KT Tunstall, Alice McLaughlin, Sophie Solomon and Lemez Lovas. KT Tunstall performs regularly with the group until her solo career begins in 2004.
