Odd Couple

Odd Couple is a duo from Illinois, described as an Illinois country, blues and jazz act. The group is rooted in garage rock and rock, but its music also draws on psychedelic rock and related styles.

Background

The act emerges from the earlier band Suns of Thyme, a psychedelic rock group formed in 2012 by Jascha Kreft and Tammo Dehn. Kreft and Dehn are childhood friends from East Frisia, and Odd Couple forms in 2014 in Berlin. Their work develops from an early garage rock sound into a broader mix of influences.

Style

Odd Couple’s music is difficult to place in a single genre. Over time, the duo adds elements of Krautrock, psychedelic rap, psychedelic rock and boogie, with some of the boogie influence compared to the style of Eagles of Death Metal.
