Octogoth
Octogoth is a duo from Coventry, associated with Wood End, made up of Octo and Goth. The pair are presented as having grown up together and begun making music after an early interest in recording bodily sounds, including flatulence. Their origin story centres on self-made, improvised recording and a deliberately provocative sense of humour.
Formation and early development
The duo are described as being “born simultaneously” and as starting from the same street environment in Wood End. Goth is said to have begun inhaling adhesives at a young age and continued until the age of 17, while Octo focuses on recording bodily noises. Together they record each other’s bodily sounds, and their musical path begins when Goth speaks the phrase “Lets get gothic” into a microphone at the age of 19.
Style and outlook
Octogoth are presented as drawing inspiration from themselves and as reserving the right to be obnoxious. The group’s image is built around absurdism, crude humour and a chaotic origin narrative rather than conventional musical biography.
