O. Children
O. Children are an English new wave and post-punk group based in London. The band forms around Tobi O’Kandi, who sings and writes the main material, and the line-up also includes Andi Sleath on drums, Gauthier Ajarrista on guitar and Harry James on bass.
Background
The group takes its name from a Nick Cave song. Before adopting the O. Children name in 2008, O’Kandi and Sleath are part of Bono Must Die, a band that ends after a lawsuit brought by Bono.
Releases
O. Children’s first single, Dead Disco Dancer, appears in August 2009, followed by Ruins in April 2010. Their self-titled debut album is issued through Deadly People Recordings, a Dalston-based label, and is produced with Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco. Their second album, Apnea, is preceded by the track PT Cruiser, with Chimera released as a later single from the record.
