Nuru Kane

Nuru Kane is a musician from Dakar, Senegal whose work draws on sounds from West Africa, the blues, gnawa, and the trance music of North Africa, including Morocco and Algeria. His main instrument is the guimbri, a three-string acoustic bass that is central to gnawa music.

Bayefall Gnawa

In concert, Kane fronts Bayefall Gnawa, a six-piece band that brings together musicians from Senegal, France, Algeria and Morocco. The group reflects the cross-regional influences present in his music.
