Novo Amor

Novo Amor is the recording name of Ali John Meredith-Lacey, a Welsh indie folk artist from Aberystwyth, United Kingdom, born in 1991. He works as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, sound designer and producer, and is based in Cardiff.

Career

Novo Amor gains wider attention after the release of the debut EP Woodgate, NY. The project name means “new love” in Portuguese, and Lacey says it comes from the period after a breakup, when he begins producing music and associates that with finding a new creative direction.

His second EP, Bathing Beach, is released through AllPoints, the in-house label of Believe Recordings. He later issues his debut solo album Birthplace, followed by a second solo album, Cannot Be, Whatsoever.
