Nortec Collective
Nortec Collective is an electronic group from Tijuana, Mexico, formed in 1999. It works within the Nortec style, combining electronica and techno with norteño and other Mexican regional elements. The group’s listed members are Bostich, Clorofila, Fussible and Roberto A. Mendoza.
Style and concept
The project is associated with a blend of high-tech and low-tech approaches, bringing together techno and norteño influences and linking rural and urban sounds. It is also referred to as Nortec or Colectivo Nortec.
Related releases and solo activity
At one point, the collective stops recording and performing together and the members begin working separately. Bostich and Fussible release the albums Tijuana Sound Machine and Bulevard 2000 as a duo, while Clorofila releases the solo album Corridos Urbanos.
