nOIZU

nOIZU is a house project associated with Santiago. It is linked to Jacob Plant, and the act develops within electronic and dance music with a focus on club-oriented releases.

Releases and early recognition

The project makes its debut in 2017 on the Chris Lake and Skrillex-curated HOWSLA release with Lasers. This brings it to the attention of French DJ and label figure Tchami. The follow-up Jungle EP becomes an instant live anthem and receives support from Diplo, Oliver Heldens, A-Trak, Jauz, Malaa and others.

In 2018, nOIZU releases the singles LFO and Wavey, both of which gain support on Sirius / Diplo Revolution, with Wavey receiving more than 200 plays. The project’s first official remix comes after DJ Snake asks for a version of Lauv’s A Different Way, which has more than 4.8 million Spotify streams. Other remix work follows for Tchami and Valentino Khan.

Remixes, bootlegs and releases for other producers

nOIZU also works on a reworking of the house track Music Sounds Better with You, which is given to Malaa as a bootleg and attracts more than 1 million SoundCloud plays as well as tens of thousands of downloads. Alongside released remixes, the project gives away its own stems after releases to encourage other producers, and issues several remix EPs that highlight emerging talent.

Techné Records and later activity

In summer 2018, nOIZU establishes Techné Records to release club music globally and provide a platform for new artists. The label’s first release is Rave Alarm, a collaboration with Dombresky. The track is named “Hottest Record in the World” by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 and reaches the top 10 of the ARIA club chart in Australia.

Later releases include DANCE on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records in 2019, which receives support from FISHER, Chris Lake, Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke and others. After a set at Beyond Wonderland, nOIZU releases No More, which is also played at major events including Miami Music Week and Lollapalooza Argentina.

Live shows and support

The project makes its Los Angeles debut with a packed headline show at Sound Nightclub in November 2018, around 18 months after its start. Across this period, it builds a profile through support from major electronic artists and wide club and festival circulation.
