Noisecontrollers

Noisecontrollers is a hardstyle electronic act from Veenendaal, Netherlands. The group forms in 2005 and is made up of Arjan Terpstra and Bastiaan Oskam. It is known for a series of releases, collaborations and festival appearances that help establish its position in hard dance.

Formation and early releases

The project begins in 2005, with both members coming from different musical backgrounds but sharing a strong preference for hardstyle. Its first release is “Wanna Freak You” on DJS-Records, followed by “Creatures” on Fusion Records. A third Fusion release arrives in 2008 with “Shreek”, “Venom” and “Rushroom”, which become among the most played tracks associated with the act.

Live act and performances

In 2007, Noisecontrollers develops a live act that includes MC Michel Rijenga, also known as MC Renegade. The live show is widely booked and the project performs at clubs around the world. It also appears at events including Qrimetime, Reverze, Hardbass and X-Qlusive Zany, with further bookings across Europe and a tour in Australia.

Releases and collaborations

Noisecontrollers releases several tracks that help build its profile, including “Crump” and “Aliens” in 2007. In 2009 the act produces the In Qontrol anthem, which marks an important point in its career, and collaborates with Headhunterz and Wildstylez on “Tonight”. Another collaboration, with DJ Zany, is “Delomelancum”. The act also makes remixes of Wildstylez’s “KYHU” and DJ Zany’s “Thugs and Brennan Heart his “One Blade”.”

Other tracks mentioned in its catalogue include “Yellow Minute”, “Attack Again”, “Revolution Is Here”, “Samara”, “Unbroken”, “Astral 2009” and “Addictive Fantasy”. In 2010 it works with Toneshifterz on “Jaydee” and “Empire Of The Sun”, releases a second collaboration vinyl with DJ Zany, and contributes the Decibel anthem. That year it also issues the EP Faster N Futher, which includes “Macabre”, “Darkside of Emotions” and a “Yellow Minute” remix by Wildstylez.

Digital Age and later development

In November 2010, Noisecontrollers and Wildstylez leave Fusion and Scantraxx to start the label Digital Age, with “A different story” and “Stardust” as the first results of that collaboration. In 2014, the project splits, with Bastiaan Oskam continuing as Noisecontrollers and Arjan Terpstra leaving the hard dance genre.
