Niva

Niva is the name of more than one Swedish act. One is Christian Niva, a Stockholm-based artist who makes dreamy bedroom pop with elements drawn from modern dance music. He works in electronic-leaning, downtempo and chillout territory, and his music is associated with chillwave and Swedish electronic pop.

Another Niva is a hard rock and AOR band from Skövde, in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. That group begins in 1984 under the name Axia and changes its name to Niva in the early 1990s. A later incarnation forms in 2010 with vocalist Tony Niva as the only shared member. Tony Niva is also identified as a Swedish AOR and melodic rock artist from Skövde and Skara.

Releases

Tony Niva’s debut album, NIVA - No Capitulation, appears in 1994 and is released in Japan. The later Niva discography listed for the band includes Gold From The Future, Magnitude, and Atmospherical, issued in 2011, 2013 and 2016.
