Nina Baker

Nina Baker is a singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom whose music draws on blues, pop, skiffle, rock, folk, jazz, country and classical influences. Her songs feature piano-led arrangements, emotive lyrics and a distinctive vocal style. Her stated influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Lang-Lang, Tori Amos, Kate Bush and Amy Winehouse.

Career

In 2013, Baker is selected by BBC Introducing to attend its Master Class and is runner-up in MTV’s Brand New for 2013 unsigned competition. The MTV panel describes her work as combining light and dark elements in a way that makes her songs stand out.

In 2014, she releases her debut tracks, including Single Bed and Bruising, which receive extensive global airplay. That same year she releases her debut album, Quite Frankly.

Performances and touring

Baker performs headline shows across the country and supports Mark Morriss, Henrik Freischlader, Jill and Kate, Mick Flannery and Ella Eyre on their UK and European tours.
