Yam Boy is a well-oiled poet machine. His rapping and poetical styles are as much influenced by Radiohead’s thom Yorke as they are Chuck D and Saul Williams and Rabindranath Tagore. His style of intense syllable practice is steeped in politics and spiritual rhetorics, dowsed in ghee and deep-fried. Born in North West London, Yam has moved across the city to reside in Brixton, soaking in the slam poetry scene around him, performing at venues such as Brixtongue, the Bug Bar and the Ritzy Cinema.
