Nigel Godrich is an English record producer, recording engineer and musician from Westminster, United Kingdom. He is associated with alternative rock, art rock and rock, and releases music through Wack Formula Limited.

Career

Godrich is best known for his long-running work with Radiohead, where he is often described as the band’s “sixth member”. He also joins Thom Yorke’s live band, Atoms for Peace, from 2009. His other group memberships include Ultraísta, Record Club and Dragonflies.

As a producer and engineer, he works with a wide range of artists including Paul McCartney, Travis, Beck, Ultrasound, Jason Falkner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Pavement, Brazzaville, Air, Natalie Imbruglia, The Divine Comedy, The Sundays, U2 and R.E.M.

Style and screen work

Godrich’s production is known for dense layers of sound. He also scores film, including Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the screen adaptation of the comic of the same name.
